Senator proposes tax holidays for payroll tax during epidemic

MOSCOW, Mar 20 (PRIME) – The government should introduce tax holidays on the payroll tax for all companies for the period of the coronavirus epidemic, First Deputy Director of the Social Committee of the Federation Council, Russian parliament's supreme chamber, Valery Ryazansky said on Thursday.

"Introduction of tax holidays on the payroll tax for all companies must be discussed. Postponement of payments in the current situation does not solve all issues, the companies will have to return to their payment some time later but we need to allow the companies to recover in these difficult economic conditions," Ryazansky said.

He also said that a proposal by a deputy of the Leningrad Region's legislature Vladimir Petrov to introduce tax holidays for the people who are on unpaid holidays due to the epidemic, is worth considering.
